It did not even equip 10% of the Fallschirmjäger.

How can’t you understand that FG42 is a OP gun. It was OP gun and should be OP, same as MG34 and MG42.
That is the main reason why it should not be given to everyone as it creates a never ending power creep or in other words Pandora box.

It doesn’t have to be good one. In CQC it’s better than a rifle, that’s all that matters.
When we lock it to (for example) assaulters only, we can buff it and make it competitive to other SMGs.

The buff would have to be so significant in terms of recoil and iron sight wiggle that every thing would be worse then M2. On the other hand you can let it be as it is and everything would be better than M2.
