My thoughts exactly!
“In some cases, there may be more deviations from historical accuracy than what we currently have in the game.”
I don’t see any reason that needs to be the case in the long term. If campaigns are being merged, locations themselves could be earmarked for a maximum “development level,” thus locations like Moscow would not see King Tigers or anything like that (Moscow would be tagged with a maximum development level too low for King Tigers). With transparency, we could get the best of all worlds (at least down the road).
edit: to be clear, if the players know the “development level” of the vehicles they want to play, and can look up a “maximum development level” on particular locations, they can see for themselves whether they will be able to play what they want and get that location.
Allow me to borrow your idea to enhance mine and create a suggestion.
maybe , because both can be done now since they are at it.
assort levels to weapons vehicles and gear since they are at it… half MM part done
need a way to present this to the public? current UI doesnt fit, since they are at it, change the UI
hum too much squads with the same unlocks and upgrades? maybe merge some squads, change the way a weapon can be used ingame … since they are at it…
so makes sence stuff gets done on a “single” step. because it has to be done this way.
I love the new ideas. I personal do not like the new rating based matchmaking. I think you should keep the current one. I say this because It won’t really as fun anymore. There are not that many people at top of the tiers. I think that’s the reason it makes is have people below and above you in the Tec trees. Its what makes me want to keep playing now I just want to stop.
I understand. In short, let’s change everything at once just because we can. Because it is done. We don’t necessarily know what will happen if we change so many things, whether people will react as we think, but hey, we can do it.
Full throttle to the wall, we may break through, we may get stuck.
This is a forward-looking and wise development.
Sounds exciting and am looking forward to see the new layout.
When can we expect to see this massive overhaul, rolled out?
I realy don,t know why people in the forum are so afraid of the progresion system. but there are many guys in the forum making a mess in this decision. HAS LONG, we don,t loose any resource we get in the original campaign its EVERTHING, fine.
keep in mind DEV,s this condition is EXTREME important, also i sees people ‘‘want’’ to have 32 Theatres from WWI to WWIII, it would be a mess so much theatres. so a new progression system will be needed, sooner or later.
Wow. I have to say this is magnificent news. Incredible stuff here, Darkflow. Well done!
I have a bunch of critiques and improvements I’d like to request:
-
Can you please allow weapons, vehicles, etc. that are attained via purchasing premium squads to be available for regular squads that have the appropriate classes?
-
Can you please allow purchased premium squads to have the same level of customization as regular squads (e.g. weapons, equipment, uniforms, etc.)?
-
The current auto-lean system we have in-game when behind objects is very touchy and counter-intuitive. Would you please consider reworking it so players have a reliable, context based “peak and lean” control when aiming from behind objects (this is not to be confused with the Q/E manual lean controls)?
-
Mounting weapons on objects or the ground can be very fussy, too. When the weapon finally does mount, many times it’s sunken into the object/ground or is hovering above it. Do you plan on improving this?
-
Can we please have control of our parachute after bailing out of our aircraft?
-
Can we please have the ability to take manual control of our aircraft’s gunners (while the AI takes over piloting) in similar fashion to taking manual control of tank gunners?
-
Could you please add the ability for players to mount/dismount the Type 2 Ka-Mi’s and Type 3 Ka-Chi’s pontoons (with performance and protection being affected realistically)?
-
Can we please have the ability to order AI squadmates to operate stationary turrets?
-
Will you be adding separate “Legs” appearance customization for the Allied and Axis forces currently in the Pacific War campaign?
-
Will you be adding the E13A1’s missing third crewman?
-
Can you please add the ability for players to dismantle enemy medic crates while holding the J key?
-
Can you please allow players to setup Custom Matches with up to a full compliment of AI for both teams as well as the ability to select the time of day and weather conditions?
-
Can you please expand AI functionality to include the ability to utilize all vehicle types?
If I dont get to play the campaign I want to play, Im out. Wont see me at all then.
A way to fix the historical accuracy problem is make certain weapons and vehicles specific to certain maps. For example you have an IS-2 and a T-34-76. You que for a game and get a berlin map so you will be able to use the IS-2, but if you get a Moscow or Stalingrad map then you aren’t able to use the IS-2 and it defaults to the T-34-76. You would select an alternative vehicle, or weapon to replace the ones that wouldn’t be available on early war maps.
yeah, i also don’t want to be forced to play Berlin, i avoid this campaign.
no status quo is not sufficient. game currently has few big problems:
- low playerbase spread across 6 campaigns, 3 servers and 2 sides
- new player retention.
- bad MM that puts newbies against veterans with end game weapons (sub problem invulnerable tanks in gray zone)
- bots cause of low playerbase
- players playing meta end game weapons if they want to win. all old weapons/vehicles are currently just intermediary till you get end game weapons (unless you RP)
only thing that will be worse is historical accuracy and inability to choose campaign, but if what movmav_ru wrote is true, then you will mostly be getting campaigns you are equipped for that are mostly historically accurate
cause current MM is cancer for new player retention. it is not only about grind. it is about getting pounded by veteran players equipped with meta end game weapons vs newbies with starter equipment and crippled squads. at least this will tilt the balance in other way.
Yeah you know what’s complicated with the current order system? Monetizing it with repair costs or some other nonsense that most F2P games do. This is not an “improvement” or a “requested feature”, this is a tool for further monetization of Enlisted in the future.
i second all of this suggestions and questions.
This seems like great news to me. I’m not a new player but I see the game as nearly unapproachable to new players and no game can survive like that. If it stays as it is now you’ll have a shrinking base of OG’s stomping bots and noobs. New players will try at most for a little while and realize how long they have to work in most campaigns to compete against late level stuff and then bail. Rinse, repeat… then there are not enough players to justify even sustaining the game or running servers.
This changes all of that. Sure, a few people will be gone as you can’t make everyone happy… but I bet 10x more people will be gained in a short amount of time.
NO
- Round Parachutes
Round parachutes were the first tools for fabric descent. If your mental image of a parachute involves a big, inverted pouch of fabric suspended over a helpless jumper, then it’s a round parachute you’re thinking of. Round parachutes served a purpose for a very long time (and still do, in some very specific circumstances), but there were a few issues with this design that caused them to eventually fade from regular use. First off: They’re (gulp!) unsteerable. Secondly, they’re (double gulp!) not super-likely to land lightly.
That currency introduction does sound a bit fishy. And although they say, they will exchange the current orders we have in inventory at a fair rate, I do worry about my 2700 Soldiers orders.
They won’t be worth anything if the game dies…
bots in this game is a feature, not a disadvantage. Many people choose enlisted because we can farm AI there and we enjoy it.
