About the grenade launcher update

I think it deserved a buff and increasing the speed of mounting it and reloading is good. Makes things smoother. My only problem with it, is that buffing the damage and explosion radius is a bit too much. If squads can wipe each other out by the seconds, this literally changes the game. Like, the grenades from a launcher explodes on impact, there is no avoiding it. Normal grenades can be dodged or thrown back, but grenades from a launcher is impossible to counter or avoid.

What are your guys opinion on the grenade launcher update?

I really like the update, especially the radius. This squad was almost a throwaway until this update. I suppose the dev strat is to overbuff it and feather it back to optimum usability (like the dizzy explosions but less severe). IMO grenade should kill a squad - but maybe AI also needs to be tweaked - I guess you can set further follow on your squad.

I’d rather make them slower than less powerfull.

Damm they’re super op :laughing: i love it, also what’s wrong with something non meta being a little too good ? this won’t change anything, i can’t see people prefer the kar98 grenade launcher over a fg 42 or stg 44

And here I am, I’ve been using and still am using rifles with grenade launchers on all my Riflemans in all campaigns for almost a year now. I always liked to use these grenade launchers and was good at it, but now they seem to be a bit too powerful, you don’t really need to aim anymore to kill something, needs some tweaking IMO.

but to make them slower would be to revert back, to it being annoying to use.

And if we make them weaker they won’t be worth using.
I’d rather have a situational weapon than plane weak one.

Agreed. Just what this game was missing was more explosive spam. Now we just have grenade/explosion pack spam w/ throw range perk, artillery every 30s or radio airstrike every 4 minutes, bombs, tanks spamming HE, and noob tubes.

My favorite part of playing an FPS is the lack of the S. Might as well make a new genre: FPE. I came to this game for the squad mechanic and stayed cuz of the fun gunplay. I was able to live with Normandy being the bombing cancer since it was always chaos, but now every campaign is just explosions in the killfeed. I was playing the event yesterday and ended up in a game with a lot of the top 25 on both sides and most of the killfeed was grenade launchers, explosion packs, or plane strikes. Wow such skill. Like I know they are not bad players, but the fact that to be competitive means spamming explosives is so lame.

Edit: I am fine with mines and the det packs since they require some level of skill/placement to use and can’t be chucked into a crowded point from safety.

My guy, those are axis weapons. Have you thought about how allies will react? Quadro released a video of him dominating a match as allies. Every squad was euiped with m1 carbines with launchers. That shit was sad sight.

At least now you’re getting the real WW2 experience, you know, instead of artillery just briefly bombarding one tiny spot they covered half the frontline in shells for several minutes.

Also detpacks need a range nerf. A heavy-handed one. Something that can one shot even tigers shouldn’t be chucked from halfway across the map with the throwing range perk. Personally I think it should be such a range that you’re killed no matter what if you throw it after cooking it for the max possible duration.
