About bayonets

In this thread I will make two small suggestions about bayonets in the game.

  1. I suggest adding the ability to buy bayonets in the store. I think it is very strange that this cannot be done.

  2. I suggest giving the ability to place some bayonets in the melee weapon slot and use it as knives.

And:

  • Remove recoil buff from having a bayonet on your gun.

People are using this as a “balance” argument for why some guns shouldn’t get bayonets, I’d like that to no longer be the case. All guns that could use bayonets should have the capability of having a bayonet mounted on them, especially if the model of the bayonet already exists in the game!

Been saving my svt-40 bayonets for this
Also make all bayonets, like the MAS-36 optional. Removing the bayonet should give faster aim speed and less sway.

I would add more logical penalties: climbing speed, getting into vehicles, changing weapons, etc. And deprive weapons with a folding bayonet of these penalties.

There are definetly some penalties that should be applied to having a bayonet mounted on the gun, but if we are going to penalize it I’d like there to be a function to attatch and detatch one mid battle, a similar function to what you do with grenade launchers.

Also a function to order your AI squadmembers to do the same, of course.

Yep, that’s the most common one.

“We can’t give the FG 42s their bayonets, the [miniscule] recoil reduction would make it too OP!”

I’m just a simple melee lover, I don’t care about the imperceptible recoil change, I just want my bayonets!
