Why br4? Lanchester 50 is br 3 and japanese 50 round mp 28 br 2. Why would 30 extra rounds make br 1 smg br 4?

You can always tweak its stats to fit BR4 standard.
And Germans are in need of BR4 smg, plus they already have plenty of BR2 and BR3 smgs.
As far as I am aware of, there’s still not a single one German made BR4 SMG in tech tree.

Not like 10 more rounds is really that more impressive.
BR3 would be fine since it can still be used in higher tier battles, like BR4, so, undertiering it is not a bad thing.
Yea, if people want to have it in BR4, they can use it there anytime.
the mp28 (32) around is a br II weapon.
and just like the lancaster 50 round, this one can too be br III.

So what? We have Type 2 smg that’s on BR2, and then another Type 2 smg that’s on BR4.

Just give it good stats and it can easily be BR4

Dunno, turning the MP28 into a PPD40 stat-wise sounds dumber but you are the expert in that area so I pass.
one is a early war ““production””, the other is pure proto.
mechanically they do work different and are made of different materials.

because mechanically mp 28s weren’t modified and were mostly remained un changed due to their low number value production.
as much i would really like the mp28 to be better, that would mean also change the lower br ones.

sure when we move all 30 round thompsons to br3
because a 50 round smg belongs at br3 but a 30 round belongs at br4 thats fair
Id love to have the vertical magazine variant to be in the tec tree or atleast a gold order even a premium squad if they go down that route 
just to have it in the game would be cool
