4 years playing here, devs need to think "outside the box" for the game to have any chance going forward

I love this game, been playing it pretty much ever since release. But recently, the game just feels in its most monotonous state ever. Nothing seems to be able to generate any desire for people to actually play it.

The boring weekly filler-events are a good example, nobody even bothers to read these anymore. Yet you keep throwing them out repeatedly (rather than doing some sort of interesting ones, like achievement runs or events that are actually challenging and fun to complete). Why, why not do something new and actually exciting?

Marketing, same thing. All you do is at times sponsor big creators to make that 1 video showcasing the game, always in the same format and leaving a big disclaimer at the beggining that it’s sponsored, which will already turn away half the viewers.

In the end no big creator actually makes content of this game organically and on the regular. The creators that do & partner up with you, you use them… to keep shilling your newsletters and showcasing minor updates (waste).

All of this to say, you seem to be keeping following the same agenda, and take the same monotonous and repetitive approach to managing the game. As if stuck in your own way of thinking. However, for the game to have any chance at going forward and staying alive in the future, you need to start thinking “outside the box”. Do major changes, add complete new ways of playing the game (like an Operations gamemode), maybe something like introducing a ranked mode, or even adding new periods to the game outside ww2 (which would attract a lot of people, and keep veterans hooked with a new grind).

Else, I fear a merge with War Thunder might become the only viable option (though integration with it should have already been promoted way more, easing the way for the way more numerous WT player-base to also play Enlisted)…

Agreed. I too have been playing for around 4 years now and the game is stale.

Theres so many issues/bugs that after years still havent been fixed.

While I agree the merge was very necessary and a great improvement, unfortunately post merge the game lost its momentum.

At least with the old campaigns a new campaign was a new campaign. A bunch of new maps, in some instances whole new factions with lots of new tech, and a way to attract new players.

We waited years for Tigers of Burma and what do we get? ONE Burma map. JUST ONE. Some high level prototype BS and NOTHING from the Commonwealth or anything related to Burma.

Weve had the same Pacific and Tunisia maps now for years. As Ive said a few times, even when we do get new maps they are barely noticeable and soon forgotten as new since they are the same locations with copy pasted assets.

We can argue on what new maps/locations should be added, whether new factions would or wouldnt work, but either way DarkFlow just keeps dragging along not doing much.

We’re stuck in a horrid limbo of WWII fantasy prototype high BR land while over half of WWII is ignored. The devs added jets and refuse to do WWII properly, but also refuse to move to the Cold War where campaigns like the Korean War or First Indochina War would still work with Enlisted and predominately used WWII era weapons anyway.

Its really sad. We also have a cycle of boring game with no new content so not enough players. People claim that because we havent got enough players, we cant have new content such as new factions/sub factions. So more people become tired of the game or turned off downloading it. This is repeated over and over.

We hear that funding is being withdrawn from the game which sucks.

At this point Id be open to a merge with War Thunder if it meant a revitalised playerbase and more new content. Hopefully BRs could be kept reasonably realistic.

Perhaps Enlisted could have a WWII mode and then a free for all like WT? So people like me could focus on realistic WWII while others can go and do their Abrams VS Tiger tank crap.

After three years, I have finally got to the point where I only really play much when they have an event or their two day 20k deals. I will now only play till my daily objectives are fulfulled, and since I no longer pay for premium that is usually about four or five games, down from 25-30 I used to play. Both my kids have quit playing totally. So yeah, DF needs to do some soul searching because this is a great game, just needs a leader with some vision.

I fail to see how that’s a bad thing. Or how should it affect your overall fun from playing the game.

A year period of before the merge was much more worse.

This would only discourage me from playing. WW2 is literally one of the main reasons why I chose to spend time with this game.

It’s kind of funny that it bothers you when a few sentences before you said literally this:

So realistically you’d only want changes outside of the box that would appeal to you, disregarding other current Enlisted players.

But as soon as it’s a change outside of the box that you wouldn’t like. Then that’s wrong.

Quite hypocritical, not everyone shares your opinions + just because something is in the game, doesnt mean you have to use it

When did I say something like that?

Yeah, can’t wait for Tiger vs PT-76 encounters.

But It’s good to know that I don’t need to use PT-76. It definitely won’t affect me in any other way.

Here

From my understanding, you are arguing that new periods shouldnt be added to the game, because it will discourage YOU. YOU are not every player, I dont think this is a valid way to argue a point.

That might be a good point, but I have a little bit of faith that the devs wouldnt pit a 1950s light tank against ww2 tanks, and implement a good separation mechanic for them.

I used myself as an example. Since he claims it would draw more players. I’m saying it would turn some people away.
:man_shrugging:

Because literally none of the current players started playing Enlisted because of the cold war content. And how do I know that? Well probably because it’s a pure WW2 game.

I still don’t see where I said that everyone shares my opinion. :man_shrugging:

  1. BRs doesn’t reflect year of deployment
  2. it’s literally just your “faith” VS what they’ve already done in WT.

pretty obvious that when enlisted adds cold war content, it will attract cold war enthusiasts to grind for it, the same way ear thunder attracts modern and cold war enthusiasts

May 2020 Victory Day test player here:

Ever since the Merge happened we’ve received 0 effort to fix its shortcomings like sandy interwar Italian tanquettes at Ardennes but keep getting further and further from WW2 which is really sad.

Why all you dont go play war thunder if you only want to play tanks?

This is what is ruining this game.

same reason youre here I suppose. You seem to spawn in a LOT of planes

The whole point of enlisted is that it’s a combined arms warfare game. If it was just infantry, nobody would play

See?

That’s what I’m talking about.

You all complain that the game is getting worse, but nobody does anything to make it better.

Soon we’ll have 4 vehicles per team (before, it was 1 per team) because people don’t play with soldiers anymore, only with tanks and planes.

Now think about the player who is just starting now. How long do you think they’ll stay in the game?

If the powers that be give F2P players a couple more slots (premium players too), then I think it’ll help newer players quite a bit.

I agree.

We understand its combined arms. What we have a problem with is the obsession with ‘add muh high level war thunder tank’ all the time.

This has meant infantry needs prototype and copy paste AT weapons to have some sort of chance against OP metal beasts.

It really annoys me that there’s so many other types of vehicles we are missing in the game and all people can come up with is more and more OP tanks.

I dont think anyone is asking for “just infantry”, Id like to see the high level tankers as you said bugger off to war thunder and DarkFlow instead focus on adding halftracks, trucks, cars, light armoured cars, bulldozers, SPAA etc.

Eg why have we still not got the M3 Halftrack for Allies? Why is the Sdkfz halftrack locked behind a paywall?
It would be really cool at BR III driving around in MG armed halftracks, or MG armed jeeps and kubelwagens at BR II etc.

But noooooo instead we get Ho Ri Prototype, the only information of which coming from an unfinished sketch on a serviette from the last couple weeks of the war…
And we wont even mention the Tiger tank for Japan… Im surprised DarkFlow hasnt given Japan the atomic bomb yet…
